New name change: South Mississippi Chapter

The American Red Cross of South Central Mississippi has proudly served counties in South Mississippi area for the past 92 years. Today, we continue to help our community every day by responding to local disasters.

Today, changes are underway to ensure that the American Red Cross of Mississippi will stand strong for many years to come. With these changes, service delivery will be stronger and more efficient.

Effective July 1st, the Red Cross consolidated Mississippi’s 13 Red Cross chapters into five regional chapter offices. With this change, the South Mississippi Chapter was born.


The following new Mississippi regional chapters are:

  • Capital River Chapter:  Jackson
  • East Central Chapter: Meridian
  • South Mississippi Chapter: Hattiesburg
  • Northeast Chapter: Tupelo
  • Northwest Chapter: Oxford

The South Mississippi Chapter services the following counties: Harrison, Hancock, Jackson, Pearl River, Stone, George, Greene, Perry, Forrest, Lamar, Marion, Walthall, Lawrence, Jefferson Davis, Covington, Jones, and Wayne.

Red Cross offices open in the South Mississippi Chapter area include:

  • Kiln (228.467.7609)
