Disaster Action Teams Training Opportunity

Disaster Action Teams (DAT) are comprised of individually, trained Red Cross Disaster Volunteers. These volunteers are oriented and trained to work with a team, providing immediate, emergency assistance to families that have suffered a loss due to a natural disaster in their own community. They respond at the local and regional level to disasters such as single-family/multi-family fires, floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes.
Training classes taught during the June 24-June 26 weekend will be a special opportunity for new and interested Red Cross volunteers that want to serve on Disaster Action Teams.
With the exception of one class, this round of training will be held at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church, located at 2420 Hardy Street, Hattiesburg, MS 39401. We will offer nine core disaster classes for volunteers so they can be oriented, trained, and integrated with their respective county's Disaster Action Team. All disaster classes are free of charge.
This training is aimed toward developing all disaster volunteers and is not exclusive to Disaster Action Team members. Pre-Registration is required. For more information, please click on the disaster classes icon on our website.
