Disaster Action Teams Training Opportunity

Disaster Action Teams (more commonly known as DAT Teams) are compromised of individual, trained Red Cross Disaster Volunteers. These volunteers get oriented and trained to work in a group(team) effort and they provide immediate, emergency assistance to families that have sufferred a loss due to a natural disaster in their own community. They respond at the county and regional level to incidents such as single-family/multi-family fires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.
All of the training classes taught on that particular weekend (June 24th-June 26th) will be a special training opportunity for new and interested Red Cross volunteers that want to serve on Disaster Action Teams. This training special will be known as a "DAT Round-Up Training Weekend." With the exception of one class, this round of training will be held at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church, located at 2420 Hardy Street, Hattiesburg, MS 39401. We will offer nine core disaster classes for volunteers so that they can get oriented, trained, and integrated on their respective county's Disaster Action Team.
