First Aid Training
A four hour class, you will learn first aid for poisoning, bleeding, diabetic emergencies, exposure to heat and cold, seizures, and injuries to bones, muscles and joints. Updated in April 2006, the new First Aid Training class includes more information for participants to reference after being certified! The class includes a manual and meets OSHA requirements.

Child & Infant CPR
A four and a half hour class, this class teaches lifesaving skills and the rationale behind them for anyone under 12 years old. Some of the skills covered include: conscious and unconscious choking, rescue breathing, and CPR. The class includes a participant manual. The Child & Infant CPR class can be combined with the first aid class to receive both certifications as an seven and a half hour class. The newly updated Child and Infant CPR class meets the 2005 Guidelines for Emergency Cardiovascular Care (2005 ECC Guidelines) and OSHA requirements!

Adult CPR/AED
A four and a half hour class, you will learn lifesaving skills for anyone over 8 years old. You will learn conscious and unconscious choking skills, rescue breathing, CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator. You will also receive a manual useful for reviewing skills after certification and as a general reference. This class can also be combined with the First Aid class as a six and a half hour class. The new Adult CPR/AED course meets the 2005 ECC Guidelines and OSHA requirements.
Adult, Child and Infant CPR with AED
A CPR classes for all ages from infants up through adults. It is a combination course of Adult CPR/AED and Child & Infant CPR. The class includes a manual useful for refreshing your skills and general reference. Meets 2005 ECC Guidelines and OSHA requirements.

Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED and First Aid
A combination of Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED with First Aid training, this eight hour class trains you to respond effectively in any emergency situation. Students receive manual useful for refreshing your skills and general reference. Meets 2005 ECC Guidelines and OSHA requirements.

Sports Safety Training (SST)
A class especially for those who work with athletes, this eight hour class provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to help provide a safe environment on the playing field. The class emphasizes minimizing the consequences of injury or medical illness. This course covers first aid and Adult & Child CPR. Students receive a manual and single use pocket mask.
Blood-Borne Pathogens Training
This course gives students who need to meet the standards required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Class giving by appointment only.

Babysitter Training
This course gives students who are planning to babysit with knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training is designed for youths ages 11 to 15.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
This class gives individuals such as lifeguards, coaches, athletic trainers, police officers, and firefighters who have a duty to respond to emergencies the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and respond to emergencies, this certification is valid for one-year.

Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor
Upon completing the Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor training, participants will be an authorized American Red Cross Instructor. If you are interested in becoming a Lay Responder First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, please complete this form, and a member of our Preparedness Staff will contact you. Participants in the class can choose to teach from the following programs:
- First Aid/CPR/AED for the Workplace
- First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and the Community
- Blended Learning: First Aid/CPR/AED
- First Aid-Responding to Emergencies
- Sports Safety Training.
Recertification/Challenge Day
Test your CPR skills and knowledge to renew your certification. Participants must come prepared as there will be no instruction given. Practice time is allowed if needed.

Please note that there is no instruction actually provided the day of the challenge. All participants are responsible for knowing the material in advance.
LifeGuard
A 30 hour class, it teaches the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies -- with an emphasis on quick response time to emergencies and preventing drowning and injuries. If needed the Waterfront Lifeguarding, Waterpark Lifeguarding, Automated External Defibrillation, Oxygen Administration, and Preventing Disease Transmission modules can be added. The course also includes first aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You must be at least 15 years old to enroll in the class and pass a specific swim test.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Mass Care and Disaster Services
A class geared to those who wish to have more one on one interaction with people affected by a disaster. Participants learn how to obtain and report damage information and procide operational support on disaster relief operations.
Shelter Operations
Prerequisite: Intoduction to Mass Care & Disaster ServicesThe purpose of this course is to prepare participants to effectively and sensitively manage shelter operations as a team to meet the needs of people displaced as a result of a disaster.
Shelter Simulation
Prerequisites: Shelter Operations
The purpose of this training is to provide participants with an opportunity to apply the knowledge, skills and abilities required to operate a successful shelter.

Client Casework
This course teaches te skills and tools needed to conduct an effective client interview. Participants will learn to provide Red Cross emergency disaster assistance, use the basic forms and tools as needed to assist clients, demonstrate apprpriate use of resources and referrals and describe the assignment settings in which emergency assistance interviews are performed.
Disaster Health Services
Describes the Disaster Health Services function on local and disaster relief operations, including the role of nurses in various assignment settings and identifies resources and protocols for providing assistance. Prepares nurses to initiate DHS case management through case studies and group activities. Meet DHS training requirement for promotion to supervisor in other functions. Dates and times are determined by participants and instructors. Call for more information.
ERV Ready, Set, and Roll
Prerequisites: Introduction to Mass Care & Disaster Services; Valid driver's license.
This workshop will orient participants to the equipment, general layout and use of an "Emergency Response Vehicle" or ERV. Participants learn techniques for driving and managing the ERV. In addition, each must pass a defensive driving course before being certified.
Disaster Mental Health Services
Describes the Disaster Mental Health Services (DMHS) function on local and disaster relief operations, including the role of mental health professionals in various assignment settings and identifies resources and protocols for providing assistance. Prepares participants to initiate DMHS case management through case studies and group activities. Meet DMHS training requirement for promotion to supervisor in other functions. Dates and times determined by participants and instructor.
Logistics: An Overview
Participants learn about the skill, abilities and knowledge needed by logistics workers to get people and supplies where they are needed. when time allows, a simulation will be setup to allow participants a first hand experience.
Introduction to Mass Care & Disaster Services
This self-study curriculum will help to get you oriented to the services the American Red Cross provides in the event of natural or man-made disasters. Emergency Operations Center Liaison
The purpose of this course is to prepare volunteers who will be assigned to government and emergency settings to work collaboratively with Red Cross partners, helping to ensure a coordinated response that results in effective service delivery. Please contact the Chapter for more information.
