Title: Service Center Coordinator
Chapter: South Central Mississippi
City/ST: Hattiesburg, MS
Employment Status: Part-time, 25 hours per week, 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., no benefits
Reports to: Community Programs Director; program under the supervision of
Executive Director of the South Central Mississippi Chapter
Job Description: Coordinates activities and service delivery at Service Center location. There will be two available positions, one to be located in McComb, MS and one to be located in Brookhaven, MS.
Major Responsibilities
- Greets all clients/volunteers/donors as they enter office. Provide excellent and friendly service to all customers at all times
- Develop and maintain DAT roster and rotation schedule and ensure readiness of DAT equipment, readiness, and training
- Conduct Disaster Response meetings and trainings for DAT volunteers
- After receiving proper training, required to provide casework to victims of disasters such as single family fires. Required to share in after hours emergency coverage when needed.
- After receiving proper training, required to handle military emergency communications requests and AER loans and complete associated casework.
- Answer incoming telephone calls
- Refers clients to appropriate partner agencies
- Assists in writing letters and handling multiple mail-outs.
- Assists with record keeping, compliance, filing and data management.
- Assists with Advisory Board meetings and activities.
- Assists in various Service Center activities and fund development projects as assigned.
- Is required to take First Aid & CPR training and several Disaster Services training courses and be available for work nights and weekends during disasters.
- Required to receive funds and prepare receipts from the walk-in sale of products and Health & Safety course registration.
- Other duties as assigned by Director
Qualifications Computer skills to include internet/intranet; must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn Red Cross specific software for data management; ability to manage multiple tasks at one time; thorough attention to detail required; excellent verbal and written communication skills required; must be a team player. Required to be member of Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) system. Must have a valid MS driver’s license. High school diploma required.
Hourly Rate: $11.50 per hour, $15,000 annual
