American Red Cross Responds to Haiti
South Mississippi January 13, 2010 — The American Red Cross has committed one million dollars to the relief efforts in Haiti following yesterday’s deadly earthquake. You too can help the mission by texting “HAITI” to “90999”. Every text will provide $10 to the American Red Cross to help with relief efforts. [MORE]
Helping Reduce Malaria & Malnutrition in Haiti
The American Red Cross has partnered with the Haitian National Red Cross Society to reduce deaths attributed to malaria and malnutrition. Haiti has the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the Western Hemisphere, much of which has been attributed to the threats of malaria and insufficient diet. [MORE]
The South Central Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross is here for you in times of disaster. During Hurricanes, we open area shelters, offer transportation, and help in the aftermath by provide food, water, and monetary goods to all victims.
